Special Announcement

New Eagle Scout Rank Application

Have you seen the new Eagle Scout Rank Applications? No? Well, the new applications are out, and if you are a Life Scout, you must use the new form. The Service Center will reject any application using the old form.

How do you know if you have the new form? Requirement #5 has changed. You must provide the name of your project, along with the grand total of all of the hours worked on your project (from page 10 of the Eagle Scout Leadership Project Workbook).

New forms can be downloaded from, http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/58-728.pdf.

Do Your Scout Parents Have Questions?

So, you are a unit leader, you have just gone through your School Night for Scouting, and you now have a lot of parents who are coming to you, asking questions about Scouting – all wanting to find out more about this program their son has just joined. Well, the National office of the Boy Scouts of America has a wonderful web site that you can direct these parents to that can answer all sorts of questions.

Have them check out http://www.scoutparents.org/. At this link, they will find all sorts of answers, along with resources that will help them understand this program better. Once they have all the answers to their questions, be sure to sign them up as an adult volunteer, and then get them to training. We can always use the enthusiastic help.

Bo Qui Chapter 7

Tamegomit Lodge

Time to start looking towards the fall and winter programs. Fall Fellowship will be on September 19th at Camp Naish. One of the most important things that occur at Fall Fellowship is the election of new Chapter Officers. The North Star District has a lot of skilled scouts who are able to lead. We are looking for those sorts of scouts to take up leadership within the Chapter and Lodge. If you are interested in becoming more active in the Order or Scouting, contact Cameron Kieffer.

Work is progressing on a new Totem Pole, and the North Star District is playing a big role in its creation. Be sure to come to the Fall Fellowship to see its placement.

New Scout Uniform

As part of the 100th Anniversary celebration of the BSA, a NEW Boy Scout Uniform will be introduced on August 15th. The new uniform will come in different fabrics and will be a cross of the past and future. To have a look at the new look visit the Scoutstuff website below.
